I’m an Industrial Designer with years of experience in ideation, design, and creative development - a creator of aesthetic, an evaluator of function, and a director of usability.
I don't remember a time where I wasn't drawing, sketching, or doodling in the margins of a notebook. I was fortunate enough to attend the University of Cincinnati's DAAP program and graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Design. In my professional career, I have worked on everything from the creation of new product lines, to the development of corporate branding standards, and have a specific emphasis on 3D environments such as tradeshow events, corporate interiors, and museum displays. I have worked closely with companies to help them drive global brand consistency within their marketing and exhibition programs.
I love to discover: Whether it's learning a new software rendering technique, or about a new material that provides the perfect finish, or diving in head-first into a history book - I openly embrace the opportunity to discover new ways to enrich myself.
I love to create: Design philosophies are a funny thing. It's important for any Designer to have the introspection and humility to understand that Design is a vital form of communication. Everything we encounter, from products to environments, are designed to stimulate emotions and experiences. Individual interactions can differ, so it is essential that a Designer is able to separate himself from the end user. Messaging needs to be a user-centered, individualistic approach that tailors itself to unique personal experiences.
I love to laugh: Our brains are hardwired with a delightful intersection of creativity and humor. Whether it's my love of self-deprecating sarcasm, or horrifically bad puns, I believe my sense of humor has been one of my greatest creative assets. The ability to utilize humor stimulates our creativity and enhances our problem solving skills. That's what I tell myself anyway.
I love to plan: You know that person who has check lists of other check lists? Yeah, I'm that guy. I like to make order out of chaos. I like to solve problems. I like to experiment with order. I like to drive efficiencies. But most importantly, I like to adjust that crooked shelf in your office. It's been driving me crazy.
